Crime Prevention

The Crime Prevention Unit is the primary link between the citizens and the Police Department. The Crime Prevention Office can help you learn more about protecting yourself and your property from crime.  The Crime Prevention Office is involved in education and prevention efforts for both the City of Creve Coeur and the St. Louis area.

We encourage our residents to take an active role in prevention because the Police Department cannot protect our community alone. A successful partnership between the citizens of Creve Coeur and the officers who protect and serve them is only possible with active participation from both.

CRIME PREVENTION METHODS

Information on crime prevention is delivered through:

  • Email, social media and Nixle notifications
  • Neighborhood Watch meetings
  • Presentations
  • Police Department tours
  • One-on-one meetings

The unit offers complimentary security surveys for businesses and residents of Creve Coeur and is available to speak to your group on a variety of safety and preparedness topics. Our Crime Prevention officers are facilitators for the Citizen Police Academy, the area Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the R.A.D. Self-Defense Course for women.

We encourage you to explore the resources we have provided and would enjoy speaking to you and your group about safety. To learn more, or to arrange a meeting, please contact the Crime Prevention Office at (314) 442-2075.
