Transportation Development District

Creve Coeur Transportation Development District

A Transportation Development District (TDD) is a separate subdivision of the State of Missouri, established to undertake a variety of transportation-related projects including street improvements, bridges, sidewalks and other related public improvements or infrastructure.

Property owners within the District agree to impose an additional sales tax (up to 1%) in order to generate the revenue to pay for the proposed projects. Pursuant to state statute the duration of the TDD may not exceed 20 years.

Only property owners who agree to participate in the district will be included in the TDD. The TDD will be administered by a board that is city controlled, with a provision that existing property owners and businesses would maintain some measure of control over the types of projects.
