Your Rights as a Victim:


The Crime Victim's Constitutional Amendment guarantees that crime victims have the right to:

  • Be present at all criminal justice proceeding which the defendant attends, including juvenile proceeding if the offense would be a felony
  • Be information of and heard at guilty pleas, bail hearing, sentencings, probation revocations and parole hearings
  • Be informed of trial and preliminary hearings
  • Restitutions
  • Speedy disposition and appellate review of their case
  • Reasonable protection from the defendant
  • Information about the escape or release of the accused
  • Information about the criminal justice process
