[ARCHIVED] City Seeks Input on How to Improve Parks

Parks Master Plan

The City of Creve Coeur is in the process of creating a citywide parks and recreation master plan to evaluate the needs in our parks and develop a plan for future improvements.

The first phase of the three-phase project is data collection, which includes obtaining feedback from the community about what improvements can be made to both the parks and the recreation programs. The City hosted its first public meeting in November where people could voice their suggestions for the Parks Master Plan.

“We want to create a master plan that reflects what our residents need,” said Recreation Director Jason Valvero. “We’ve received some great feedback so far, and we’re hoping to hear more ideas at the next meeting, especially suggestions for new recreation programs we could start offering.”

The next public meeting is Wednesday, February 20, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dielmann Recreation Complex. This meeting will be an opportunity to provide input on ideas suggested so far and discuss possible improvements that could be included in the Master Plan.

Residents who cannot attend the meeting can submit their input through an online survey that will soon be available at www.crevecoeurmo.gov/Parks.

Once all public input is received, project consultant Planning Design Studio will begin phase two of the project, which includes park site evaluations and concept development. During the third and final phase, information gathered during the first and second phases will be used to create the final master plan and will be presented to City Council during a work session later this year.
