[ARCHIVED] First Little Free Library in Creve Coeur Opens in Millennium Park

Little Free Library

Little Free Libraries are a global phenomenon, with more than 75,000 around the world in 85 countries. Now, a Little Free Library in Millennium Park is joining the worldwide movement to share books, bring people together and create communities of readers.

The first to open in Creve Coeur, this Little Free Library is a free public book exchange where members of the community can share their favorite books with each other to encourage reading, build new connections, and spark conversations among neighbors. The Creve Coeur community is encouraged to help keep the library stocked by donating books whenever the shelves start to look empty.

Anyone can join the book-sharing movement by visiting the Little Free Library, located at the entrance of Millennium Park (2 Barnes West Drive, Creve Coeur, MO 63141), one of the city's largest parks that includes two playgrounds and a water splash pad.Red wooden Little Free Library installed at Millennium Park

The Little Free Library nonprofit organization has been honored by the Library of Congress, the National Book Foundation, and the American Library Association, and Reader’s Digest named them one of the “50 Surprising Things We Love about America.” Each year, nearly 10 million books are shared in Little Free Libraries.
