Maintaining its commitment to professionalism, accountability and transparency, the Creve Coeur Police Department is seeking its fourth re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). 

A site-based assessment will be administered to determine if the Department meets the professional standards necessary to earn accreditation from CALEA on November 8 and 9, 2021. The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services. Due to COVID-19, this on-site assessment with be held virtually.

Police Department employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling an unrecorded line to the Assessment Team at 314-274-2128, between the hours of 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm CST on November 9, 2021. 

Essential to the on-site assessment, employees and members of the community are also invited to offer comments at a public information session at 5:00 pm on November 8, 2021 until all interested persons have had a chance to speak. Those wishing to offer comments will be able to communicate with the CALEA Assessment Team via a Zoom session, Meeting ID: 825 8774 6018 or https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82587746018 

The Assessment Team consists of Lt. Paul Malech (Oakland Housing Authority, California Police Department) and Captain Perry Twisdale (Henderson, North Carolina Police Department). To accommodate all interested persons, the Assessment Team will limit the time speakers have to offer remarks to 5 minutes. All comments must be relevant to the Department’s compliance with the CALEA Standards.
