The City of Creve Coeur is in the process of creating a park master plan to evaluate the needs and develop a plan for improvements in Dr. H. Phillip Venable Memorial Park, including commemorative artwork honoring Dr. Venable. There are several opportunities, both in person and online, for the public to submit comments on the draft master plan and commemorative artwork proposals.
The three concept proposals for the commemorative artwork to be installed in Dr. H. Phillip Venable Memorial Park are available for public review through October 15, 2023. Members of the public can review and submit comments in one of three ways:
Comments collected during the public review period will be shared with the Venable Park Memorial Jury, who will then make a final recommendation to the City Council. The final decision on which proposal to select will be made by the end of the calendar year, with installation anticipated for 2025.

The public is invited to provide feedback on the draft master plan at a public open house on Saturday, October 7, from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. in Venable Park, located at 10630 Country View Drive. Staff will be present to discuss the draft master plan, which identifies opportunities for improvements in Venable Park such as a new splash pad, new tennis and pickleball courts, new play equipment for 2-5 year olds, exercise stations and additional parking. HDR, Inc., developed the draft master plan based on community feedback and input from the city's Parks and Historic Preservation Committee.
Those unable to attend the open house may view the draft master plan online through October 15, 2023.
